Jacques Daoust

Jacques Daoust holds a BA from the Université de Montréal, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from HEC Montréal and an MBA from Université Laval. He is also a Fellow, Institute of Canadian Bankers, awarded solely to leaders in the banking sector.

During his career, he has occupied several very senior positions in major institutions such as National Bank of Canada and Laurentian Bank. He has also served as President of Laurentian Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Laurentian Bank Securities. Moreover, he has served as President and CEO of LBC – Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management. He was President and CEO of Investissement Québec.

On April 7, 2014, he was elected MNA for Verdun. He was subsequently appointed Minister of the Economy, Innovation and Exports from April 23, 2014 to January 28, 2016. Since, he is Minister of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transport Electrification.
