Jonathan  Kay

Jonathan Kay is an author, speaker and journalist. Currently, he is the editor-in-chief of Canadian magazine The Walrus.

Kay was born and raised in Montréal, where he earned degrees metallurgical engineering from McGill University. He went on to study law at Yale and was a practicing tax lawyer in New York City. In 1998, Kay moved to Toronto where he became a founding member of the National Post editorial board. During his tenure, he also served as comment pages editor, columnist and blogger.

Kay was a freelance editorial assistant on Prime Minister Trudeau’s memoir Common Ground, conducting interviews used for the book. He is the author ofAmong the Truthers and co-author of The Volunteer. Kay’s freelance writing has appeared in a variety of publications including Newsweek, The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine, The New Republic and The New York Times.
